Belize and Costa Rica to boost convention against racism

As part of the activities aimed to celebrate the United Nations International Year of the Afro-descendants, the governments of Belize and Costa Rica will boost the approval of the “Inter American Convention against Racism”.

On February 24, Costa Rica’s Foreign Ministry announced that the Afro-Costa Rican National Commission was established to be responsible for the celebration of the International Year held this year. Costa Rican Foreign Minister Rene Castro together with former lawmakers and directives will be co-presidents of the commission.
