Belize Prime Minister to participate in Meeting of CDB Board of Governors

On May 17, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Hon. Dean O. Barrow, left Belize take part in the 14th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB). The board met on May 19-20 in the Bahamas.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister will be supported by the Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Economic Development, Commerce & Industry, and Consumer Protection, H.E., Mrs. Yvonne Hyde, and Advisor in the Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Yvette Alvarez.

Barrow will return to Belize on May 22.

Belize launches Integrated Financing Strategy

A launching for the development of the Integrated Financing Strategy (IFS) initiative for Belize has been held by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment.

Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment, Hon. Gaspar Vega, delivered the main address at the event. The initiative involves key stakeholders in the planning and design of the Integrated Financing Strategy for Belize, which is a component of the Regional Agro-environmental and Health Strategy (ERAS), executed in collaboration with the Global Mechanism of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (Land Degradation and Drought) (UNCCD), the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the Central American Agricultural Council (CAC), and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
