Saturday, December 26th, 2009

Operators dealing with online gambling illegally were taking Israeli customers pretended to be regulated in Belize. However, they actually had no connection to this offshore jurisdiction.

Israeli police found out that an illegal gambling ring claimed to be based in Belize, but its servers were actually located in Estonia, while bank accounts for the leaders were opened in Israel. Internet1x2.com was the casino and sports betting site that had no connection to Belize, but it claimed to be regulated by the Belize Gaming Commission.

Two brothers, Idan and Shai Raviv, were arrested by Israeli police for operating the illegal gambling network. The operations stretched from Eastern Europe to England and Israel, whilst Belize apparently was used as a front.

The above-mentioned website is no longer is available. It had claimed that it was owned by Net Games, a Belize incorporated offshore company. However, according to Lincoln Blake, an official from the Belize Ministry of Economic Development, no filings or registration of the gambling site nor its holding company existed. He also said, “We want to advise the Internet community and the general public that there are only two with license to operate from Belize.” Those are Fulton Data Processing and Sports Offshore Limited. Blake asked Internet users to avoid any business with all other operators claiming Belize connections for their online casinos.
